Projects

I'm an idea man, and I love to put those ideas into action. The internet allows me to do that to an extent.

This is a list of my current and future projects.

JAKENESS Clothing
Status: Active

Like any person, over the years my friends and I have created sayings and catch phrases. I'm putting those sayings to use on clothing.

ROCKERS ONLY
Status: Active (beta)

After searching for music, news, and videos of my favorite bands (rock), I would rarely find what I needed. That's when I decided to create a music blog that features mainstream rock. But not the U2 or System of a Down type of mainstream. The blog was an instant success, seeing as most music blogs out there cater only to indie or hard rock.

Inside the Redzone
Status: Active (beta)

This is a pro football blog which is technically open, but has a 50/50 chance of staying open as is or turning into a Baltimore Ravens blog.

stellastarr* Myspace
Status: Active

The idea to start this MySpace was the same as The Strokes. Only this time, the lead singer, Shawn, wanted to work with me on it. Over time, the fan base has built up and I have become distant friends with Shawn.

As of right now I currently do not run the MySpace. Shawn decided to take over the duties in the mean time. However, I am the emergency back up guy.

The Strokes MySpace
Status: Closed

When MySpace started, I was your average user. Music profiles were very limited, bands had yet to realize the success MySpace would eventually bring them. Instead of making fan site for The Strokes, I made them a MySpace.

In October of 2005, I posted "Juicebox" on the MySpace. It was the first single from The Strokes, 'First Impressions of Earth' album which had been leaked. A day later, the song had received thousands upon thousands of plays. I also received an e-mail from RCA explaining I was to be sued if the song was not taken down immediately. I was not home when the e-mail came, so RCA had MySpace delete it.

After I apologized to The Strokes management (Wiz Kid), they wanted to work with me. I got an advance of a lot of the new album's songs. They connected me with RCA and MySpace music, and I worked with them in order to promote the new album. It was an amazing experience.

Several months after RCA got involved, I received an e-mail from Wiz Kid Management. Juliet Casablances informed me that RCA had taken full control of The Strokes' MySpace. She apologized for the sudden news, but offered a care package to some how make up for what had just happened. After putting in all of that work for over 2 years, RCA just took it away. Obviously, they had the right to, but it was a little shitty the way it happened. However, The Strokes are still my favorite band and I have an RCA internship opportunity available.

Vanishing Act MySpace
Status: Closed

Tharon is the bassist of the band Vanishing Act. We go way back to third grade. He asked me to manage their MySpace and money for them. Their fan base on MySpace has grown to over 7,000 fans and the band has begun selling their music online.

The band is currently broken up and a reunion seems highly unlikely.
